Heart Rate and Myocardial Injury

A high resting heart rate is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. This study extends that finding to pre-operative heart rates as a predictor of increased myocardial injury and also note lower heart rates < 60.

Whether heart rate is a marker or modifiable risk factor remains to be elucidated
